ANCIENT VVISDOM: Steam New Album ‘Deathlike’

Austin, Texas-based acoustic occult rockers ANCIENT VVISOM‘s sophomore full-length “Deathlike” (out Feb. 5 in the U.S.) is now streaming in full on HERE! The “heavy and monolithically haunting” (Revolver) nine-track album — the title track of which is currently available for digital download via iTunes and Amazon MP3 — was applauded for its “ethereal acoustic doominess” by Bizarre Magazine. You can pre-order your copy of the album on either CD or 12″ LP along with an exclusive t-shirt via the Prosthetic webstore HERE.

“Deathlike,” the follow-up to the band’s 2011 critically acclaimed debut “A Godlike Inferno,” was once again mixed and mastered by engineer/co-producer Jason Buntz (Jet, The Darkness, …Trail Of Dead), along with partner and Enormous Door founder Jack Control whilst being recorded at Diamond Factory Studios (Mammoth Grinder, Phobia) in Austin. The cover art by Travis Smith (Opeth, Katatonia) appears above.

Ancient Vvisdom will embark on a national tour in support of Enslaved later this week along with Pallbearer and Royal Thunder; they will continue touring with the latter band for another two weeks immediately afterwards. Additionally, the band perform intimate acoustic sets at select local record stores along the way, including a recently confirmed appearance at Vacation Vinyl in Los Angeles. Full dates can be found listed below. The band was last seen in the U.S. supporting GHOST and have also performed alongside Swans, Wino and Scott Kelly, as well as appearing at SXSW with EyeHateGod and Pentagram.Catch Ancient Vvisdom live below:

About Hayls (125 Articles)
(ex-Editor / ex-Author ) I live in Colchester (UK) with my dog, Athena, where I’m studying Creative Writing at the University of Essex. My favourite metal genres are probably folk, doom, black, symphonic and gothic but I listen to pretty much every metal sub-genre! At the end of the day if I like something, I don’t give a shit what genre the music is, I’m going to listen to it! My favourite band will make most metalheads cringe in horror, so I’m going to go ahead and not mention who they are or risk losing all credibility as a metal fan! Posts by Hayley.
