KREATOR’s Sami Yli-Sirniö: “The Best Reviews to Read are From People Who Didn’t Like the Music” [Interview]

Kreator is a band which will forever be really close to me. I do not consider this legendary thrash metal act to be just another thrash metal band which plays fast and carelessly. Although the first few albums might seem monotonous, they are (together with their newer stuff) filled with pure aggression and emotion. In the past their music and Mille‘s (vocalist/guitarist) lyrics helped me keep my feet on the ground and be what I am; and even helping me discover such amazing writers like George Orwell or Kurt Vonnegut.

On 28th April before the band hit the stage of London’s HMV Forum (reviewed here), I had the unbelievable opportunity to interview guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö. Due to the band’s tight schedule the interview was cut down to 10 minutes and we were not able to film it. In this short time, me and Sami talked about their short three-date tour of the UK, the supporting acts Evile, Xentrix, SSS, new album Phantom Antichrist and Kreator’s influence on heavy metal artists. Listen to the chat with Sami below!

About Dom (1278 Articles)
I started this website in 2011 because I always had a burning passion of sharing music and keeping people informed about what's going on in the metal and rock worlds. If I am not sitting in a dark room in front of a computer, listening to some obscure music (or Whitesnake), then I am usually found at a concert or a festival interviewing bands (or drinking beer).
