BLACK BOW RECORDS: Sign Headless Kross and Undersmile

Black Bow Records (the brainchild of Jon Davis: guitarist / vocalist of northern doom outfit Conan), announce the signing of Headless Kross and Undersmile to the label. Vinyl releases to come from both bands via the label on 1st April 2015. More information about the bands below.

Composed of seven tracks, and clocking in at over 70 minutes, Undersmile‘s Anhedonia is the spiritual successor to 2012’s Narwhal, and an elegant synthesis of the band’s entire back-catalogue. But where Undersmile once relished distortion and discord, Anhedonia finds the band experimenting with a wider sonic palette and dynamic range, utilising clean guitars and cellos as much as Skyhammer Studio’s collection of vintage amps and fuzz boxes.

Anhedonia is released on vinyl & digital format via Black Bow Records on April 1st 2015.

Headless Kross, who are frequently described as ‘psychedelic doom’, recorded their latest album Volumes in July 2014 with Chris Fielding at Skyhammer Studio. This is due for release in early 2015 on Black Bow (vinyl and cassette) and Burning World (CD and download), with an amazing painted cover by US artist W. Ralph Walters. The album contains 3 gargantuan songs exploring the well-worn theme of nature reasserting herself in an incredibly violent way.

Volumes is released on vinyl via Black Bow Records on April 1st 2015, while the compact disc pressing will be handled by Burning World Records.

About Dom (1280 Articles)
I started this website in 2011 because I always had a burning passion of sharing music and keeping people informed about what's going on in the metal and rock worlds. If I am not sitting in a dark room in front of a computer, listening to some obscure music (or Whitesnake), then I am usually found at a concert or a festival interviewing bands (or drinking beer).
