MERCY BROWN: Extreme Metal Act Streams Track “Birds”

This is not a 70s funk band. This is an extreme metal act with both growls and clean vocals which creates a very doom atmosphere. Also, the vocalist is from that death metal Mary Poppins video. Win.

Do you remember that death metal Mary Poppins video which went viral recently? Well, Sera Hatchett who did the amazing vocals on that track also plays in an outfit called Mercy Brown. You will be able to recognise the stark similarity of her vocal work on that song when you listen to “Birds” which we are happy to unleash onto you via the Soundcloud player below. Sera’s vocals are truly something special. She manages to successfully shift between the brutal growls and the beautiful operatic doom-style vocals.

“Birds” comes off the band’s self-titled and self-released debut album which was released on 17th March and may be purchased via Bandcamp. Don’t be deceived by the band’s name. They are not really a 70s funk band as their name would suggest but an extreme metal one with a doom atmosphere. Do not hesitate, push play below.

About Dom (1284 Articles)
I started this website in 2011 because I always had a burning passion of sharing music and keeping people informed about what's going on in the metal and rock worlds. If I am not sitting in a dark room in front of a computer, listening to some obscure music (or Whitesnake), then I am usually found at a concert or a festival interviewing bands (or drinking beer).
