Lee Stanton of Thy Art is Murder Checks in From Mayhem Fest in Illinois

Purity is a word that should never be associated with metal. Metal is a melting pot trapped inside a constantly changing environment, filled with highs, lows and never ending trends. Deathcore is known by many as the illegitimate child of metalcore and death metal. It is the modern interpretation of extremity and Thy Art Is Murder projects extremity like a hail of bullets ricocheting off wet pavement, the death blow is coming, run for cover!

Thy Art Is Murder is from Australia and they’ve been pummeling the world since 2006. I recently had the opportunity to talk to Thy Art’s drummer Lee Stanton while on tour during this year’s Mayhem Fest. Please enjoy some excerpts of our July 12th 2015 interview.

About David Halbe (285 Articles)
I live in the USA and I'm a fan of all types of metal: Black, Death, Hair, Thrash, Nu, Core, Sleeze, Stoner, Groove, etc... I have a huge collection of heavy metal CDs and I have been attending shows since 1986. Nothing is too extreme or poserish for me, if it rocks it rocks. Metal is the music we all have in common, it is our lifeblood. \m/
