Sepultura are still a force to be reckoned with. The Brazilian metal giants, after so many years at the forefront of the heavy metal world, are still grabbing the proverbial bull by the horns, and making sure nobody forgets the name of Sepultura, even when you thought there was a slight chance of them fading into the stratosphere quietly. Nothing could be further from the truth.
They are due to release their new album Machine Messiah on the 13th January through Nuclear Blast Records. The other day, Sepultura dropped their first digital single ‘I Am The Enemy’.
Machine Messiah is available for digital pre-order now here. Fans who pre-order the album will receive ‘I Am The Enemy’ immediately.
‘I Am The Enemy’, track 2 of Machine Messiah, was described by guitarist Andreas Kisser as “really simple and straightforward with a strong influence of the hardcore scene of the ’90s.”
He continues; “The lyrics talk about ourselves as human beings, with concepts and pre-concepts implanted in our heads through education, religion, the environment and all of our own experiences. We are the problem and the solution, do not blame anything or anyone else but yourself, you are your own enemy. Face yourself, rethink your life and then you’ll have a chance to make a better world for yourself.”
The band have uploaded studio diary videos for Machine Messiah on their YouTube account. All five videos can be accessed in full there.
Sepultura will be hitting the UK and Ireland in February/March 2017 alongside Kreator and Soilwork, and as a part of a larger European run with Aborted in the fold too.
