The brilliant Chaos Theory are putting on a corker of a night in London on Thursday 6th April at The Black Heart in Camden. The night features three brilliant acts who despite being cut from the same cloth, are all captivating with a distinct sound.
Opening the night are Holy Roar Records’ Wren. Wren are one of the greatest bands on the scene at the moment, their brilliant, dark twisting Host EP was a highlight from the horde of underground music released last year. I saw Wren three times last year and every time I saw them they got better, a prime reason to leave work early.
Coming all the way from Canada, Zaum are excellent addition to the line up. With many successful tours of Europe and North America under their belt, Zaum’s unique Om influenced Mantra Doom sound makes them a solid addition to the line up. As Dan wrote in his review of Oracles, their music “will either grip you until the very end or you will be immediately be unable to grasp its powerful, explicitly versatile nature.” Make sure you catch a rare visit by the great Zaum.
Headlining The Black Heart are Colchester’s Telepathy. The instrumental quartet have just released the best album of their career in Tempest, Telepathy’s career will sky rocket thanks to the album’s dark atmosphere and hauntingly beautiful riffs. Tempest is a very special album and to hear songs from it live is a reason alone for the price of a ticket.
